. I am an architect, illustrator, and musician .
My name is Franco Giardino. I'm from Argentina. I graduated as an Architect in 2017.
The architecture career captivated me. By practicing it, I discovered the value of integrating different kinds of knowledge and techniques, including science, art, and all aspects of human life, into our everyday work. Studying architecture nurtured my capacity for observation, and taught me to understand problems from different points of view, with an open mind and in a holistic manner, always attentive to perceive and learn from what surrounds me, encouraging teamwork and collaboration. Architecture gave me the chance to be creative and technical at the same time. It allowed me to integrate all my artistic and personal experiences, making it my daily livelihood and passion.
I've been exposed to art, architecture, and music my whole life, coming from a family somewhat involved in all of these fields, with a great-uncle who was a painter, and a father who is a trumpeter and civil engineer. All that is now a part of me, and I've been lucky enough to have had a chance of doing it all from a young age. Today, I find myself devoting more time to these passions, playing my instrument and drawing more. I strive to broaden and enrich my knowledge of various artistic techniques, always looking for a connection between the things I do. I seek a humble architecture that is honest with itself and the environment. I focus on jazz, R&B, soul, and Latin music. I'm currently experimenting with architectural sketching and human-figure drawing.
I have almost fifteen years of experience in the field of construction and architectural design. From 2010 to February 2022, I worked at an architecture studio in Santa Fe, Argentina, as a draftsman, designer, assistant, and consultant on projects of varying complexity. Since arriving in Italy, I've worked on a couple of architectural studios, primarily focusing on design work. For the past two years, I have been working as an architect and designer in the field of institutional events for a major integrated communications agency based in Pescara (PE), Italy.
I have vast experience in group workshops and architectural competitions. I am interested in artistic work, and I enjoy and prefer hand-drawn illustrations and analog 3D models as tools for interpreting the spatial conditions and exploring alternatives for the use and occupation of buildings. As an illustrator, I tend to focus on drawing the human figure, but I also enjoy nature drawing and sketching around the city. I'm in a process of constant learning and improvement, and I offer illustration services independently.
